Yes, indeed my friends, I just came across this totally awesome site that enables member of this movement of people to give (and get) stuff for free in their own towns.

It matches people who want to get rid of things with people who want things in an ethical, environmental and supportive way.

All you have to do is post a wanted message in the group and then follow it up once you’ve been graciously given what you wanted.

One way of tracking down baby bargains is to look for unwanted items being sold.

This was always difficult to do before the internet but now there are plenty of places were mothers are able to sell there unwanted baby clothes online and to make it easier for other mothers to find them.

Well if somebody had said to me that babies clothes would be made from paper I would have said don’t be silly.

But then maybe I’m not as creative and imaginative as the artist Jennifer Collier who’s babies clothes in paper are shown in this blog post.

Stella McCartney’s collection for GapKids and BabyGap has been so successful that McCartney has been signed on to design a spring collection for the San Francisco-based chain to fill those store racks next March.

Inspired by her sons, the designs echo the styles of superhero characters. Stella decided to create a line of basics which is what she often opts for when dressing her family. She also made sure everything in the collection is machine washable, to ensure any spills can be quickly cleaned.

Sounds very sensible indeed. In fact on closer inspection there are also cashmere rich items, organic cottons and some very soft color palettes and all items have a broken in easy feel about them.

Check out this nifty tip from Amy Verner for getting your hands on some stella McCartney wear for the big kids…buying up those over sizes that get forced into the sales…..guess who they fit….time to steal a bargain and as Amy puts it;

“If you haven’t figured it out by now, I made a trip to GapKids to plunder the treasures that McCartney specially created for a segment of the population too young to understand the cultural contributions of Gianni Versace, O.J. Simpson or Tupac Shakur.”

Vintage Baby Clothes Helps Porter Hovey Win Banana Republic Casting Call

In a recent interview by amctv with Porter Harvey on her recent win of the Banana Republic Casting Call she not only showed she could take good photo’s but also looked great posing for them.

She pulled the win off buy pulling together a period look which included a pram from a vintage baby clothes sale. Not sure that we get many of those in the UK (depends on where your located I guess) but it got me thinking on the whole “vintage” look idea and whether anybody had pursued it as a fashion look or statement with the baby clothing outfits like us adults do ?
